Out of Control on Proposition 8

Ever since the vote for Proposition 8 was passed to keep marriage between one man and one women in over 30 states, including California, the riots have been full of hatred and out of control.

This legislation was voted on a few years back and was overturned by the Supreme Court. The American voters were given a 2nd chance and they spoke the same, they don't want to legalize same sex marriage. So the fight continues. Seeing the vile displays of protest makes me sick. An elderly lady carrying a cross had it knocked from her hands and stomped on. A young woman who is a Christian crusader was pushed to the ground and kicked. A church was ambushed when several protesters shouted "It's okay to be gay" and threw propaganda all of the church floors. When will we say enough?

The homosexual agenda is to force their lifestyle to be accepted. You ask for tolerance, I'd say we've gone beyond that.

We have 3rd graders attending a lesbian wedding for a field trip. If it were a Christian church with a man and a woman getting married, there would be no field trip. There are children's books on homosexual relationships. If a school chooses not to have these books as part of their library, they are condemned. You have gay pride parades through our streets demanding attention to the drag queens. If a Christian group gathers on the corner to try and talk with others about the Jesus, they are shunned. You have entered a church dressed in drag as nuns demanding to have communion, you were accepted. If your group is protested by people carry Bibles they are rejected and ridiculed. You've been give 'gay couple' days at baseball games and Disney World where other families and young children have to watch two men or women make out. You are allowed to protest riding naked on bicycles in certain states, we turn our blind eye. Yet with all this, you still demand for more.

You think that those who reject your lifestyle are intolerant and hateful. How dare you try to make us feel shameful by not accepting your life. Do you think by forcing us to belief that what you're doing is okay, that you will not have to be accountable for your actions?

Those who believe in the Word of God will continue to condemn this lifestyle. We will love the people, but hate the sin as we should. For those of you who don't agree that living a homosexual life is a sin, I encourage you to show me where in the Bible it says that a man with a man and woman with a woman is okay. If it were natural, then how come two men or two women can't procreate?

I ask is that you respect the decision that was made by these American voters. Stop the violence and hatred against those that don't agree with how you live. We have given you more respect then you deserve.

The Choice Was Made.... Obama

We fought, we did our best to get the facts out, and after the battle was over, it was Barack Obama who succeeded.

As I watched the numbers come in on November 4th, I felt angry, disappointed, defeated and depressed. Going through these emotions the last several days, I'm ready to move on. This was an historic election that will be remembered in our country's history. Barack Obama will be our next president, will give him the chance to prove himself. All though Obama was not my choice and I fervently disagree with his policies expressed on the campaign trail, I along with the vast majority of us conservatives will be praying for him and hope he is successful in helping America.

We will NOT stoop to the lows that the lefties expressed during the Bush Administration. There was such hatred, vile, putred and disgusting displays against President Bush. The utter disrespect for this office was uncalled for. It was sickening to watch as the world, the congress and the media defamed President Bush. They should all be ashamed.

Barack Obama has been and will continue to meet with President Bush to be briefed on various issues before he is sworn is as the next Commander In Chief. I truly feel that Mr. Obama will start to realize the challenges he faces and it will not be an easy task. He will find a new found respect for President Bush when he discovers what he's had to take on these past eight years.

There is an opportunity out there for the conservative party to come forward and fight for what we believe in. Believe me, when we feel their are poor decisions being made by President Elect Obama and the democratic congress, we will not stay quiet. We will respectfully disagree and make our voices heard.

Get Out And VOTE

Well it's time to get out and vote. I've tried to make my case and I hope you've given a little thought to the choice you'll make.

We can not afford a president in office that has never had to make tough decisions. We can not afford a president that has known associations with terrorists. We can not afford to change our democratic nation into a socialist nation. We can not afford to punish the corporations that provide jobs for Americans. We can not afford a president that will (according to Joe Biden) be guaranteed to be tested within the first 6 months in office. We can not afford a president to be careless about the strategies in our war on terror.

A price will be paid for our decision. Believe me, change is a coming, but will it be a change in the right direction?

Countdown to Election Day - 1 Day

We're down to the wire, 1 day to go, tomorrow is the day. Time to make a decision that is going to change the next 4 years of your life. This is the most historic election our country has ever seen. I encourage everyone to go out and vote, with the exception of those that are blindly going to the ballot box. It is so important that you understand the reason for your choice.

So, I ask that when you go in to cast your vote, ask yourself these few questions:

1) Who will help our country out of our economic crisis?
**Is it the right choice to increase taxes, especially to the small businesses that employ so many Americans?
**Can we afford to give additional tax cuts to anyone?
**Should people who currently don't pay income taxes get a check from the government?
**Should government spending be increased by a trillion dollars or should we cut excess spending on nonsensical things, such as research for waterless urinals?

2) Who will hold our American values of free democratic society?
**Four words: Spread the wealth around. This is no longer a democratic society, it's socialistic.

3) Who can we trust to make good judgements on foreign policies?
**Should we meet with the leader of Iran without preconditions?

4) Bigger government or decreased size in government?

5) Has this candidate made tough decisions for the best interest of our country?
**Voting present 130 times in congress does not seem to me like anyone can make a definite decision.
**Choosing to stay captive by the enemy on enemy grounds rather than getting a pass to go back home, says something about a man and what his country means.

6) Shouldn't we allow medical care to a child who survived an abortion?
**To say that giving this medical attention 'defeats the purpose' of the procedure is inconrehensable.

The decision is ours to make and we need to take a seriously look at our choices. If you've already gone to cast your vote, I hope and pray you made the right decision.

May God Continue to Bless America.

Countdown to Election Day - 4 Days

It's the Friday before election day. We see polls tightening, packed filled rallies and screaming fans for our candidates. As we listen to blurbs from the campaign trail, there was one that struck me from a rally for Obama. A lady after the 'show' said, "...it is the most memorable thing I ever saw....I don't have to worry about paying for gas in my car....I don't have to worry about paying my mortgage."

I'm sorry, what did you say? Don't have to worry about paying for gas?? Don't have to worry about paying for your mortgage? Well now that's interesting. Whom madam is going to pay this for you? Oh, I see, the people who are working hard and earning a decent living will be forced to share their wealth.

It frightens me to see where our country is heading. Moving on....

Admittedly I wasn't thrilled when McCain was the man chosen to be the Republican candidate. All though he's admirable, he was to me a man in the middle. He didn't represent the strong conservative values that I hold dear. Pro-God, Pro-Country, Pro-Guns & Pro-Life. Then enters Gov. Sarah Palin. She came out and gave conservatives a voice and I was pumped up to rally for this ticket.

Not long after she was announced, the attacks started rolling in. I'm not going to go into all of the rants, but if you've watched the mainstream media, you know what I mean. Problem is, people are buying it and spew off these talking points when I get into a debate.

One example, my niece who is 11 years old was telling me about a debate she has for school where kids get to talk about why they support the VP nominees. She was chosen to talk about why Joe Biden would make a good VP and Sarah Palin wouldn't. She was so excited about Joe Biden, so I had to ask, you know to help prep her for the debate. Here's how it went:

Me: What is it about Barack Obama and Joe Biden that you like.
Niece: Free Healthcare. And he will bring change...
Me: How is that free healthcare paid for?
Niece: Taxes, but it's good because everyone needs it.
Me: Have you seen the Universal Healthcare in Canada and how it has helped them? Question was withdrawn and I moved on.
Me: What don't you like about Sarah Palin?
Niece: Well, she doesn't seem to really know a lot and doesn't have any experience.
Me: And what experience does Barack Obama have? Did you know Joe Biden even said that Barack Obama didn't have the experience to lead?
Niece: No, he didn't say that. And Barack is a SENATOR (this word was elaborated).
Me: Well, Sarah Palin is the Governor of Alaska. She's had to make executive decisions for her state.
Niece: (Dumbfounded look) She is? I didn't know that...

This is when the conversation was stopped by my sister. But I had to finish by saying, "Make sure to do your research."

My point here is, people all over the place who are supporting Senator Obama point their finger at Sarah Palin claiming she has 'no experience'. But when you come at them with what Sarah Palin has done for her state and point out the legitimate lack of experience in Obama, they get angry and get on the defense. After all, Obama is the ONE. He will save us all.

Election Day - 5 Days!

Senator Obama had his 30 minute ad last night to plead with the American people on what he will do for the country as president. In the history of this race I have never heard of a man spending millions of dollars to run an info-mercial on his agenda. Programs were postposted for the ONE to speak. I just heard that the World Series was postponed so that this could be aired! Are you kidding me??

Another recent discovery is a dinner that Obama had with Palestitian Americans including Rashid Khalidi a former member of the PLO(Palestine Liberation Organization). During this dinner some of the men "expressed anger at Israel and at U.S. foreign policy" There is a video tape of this event, but do you think it will be released? The Los Angeles Times wrote on this event back in April http://www.latimes.com/news/politics/la-na-obamamideast10apr10,0,1780231,full.story. They came out and said that due to a confidential source, they can not release the video tape. Now hold on a minute, if this were Senator McCain and there was a secret video of him having dinner with members of a terrorist organization, would the video be supressed? Oh no, no, no... the media would force this to be released. The congress might even get involved.

Let's talk about this for a minute. We know that Obama has ties to his long time pastor Jerimiah Wright whom expresses hatred towards America, in a quote, 'Not God Bless America, God D America'. Obama sat in his church for over twenty years (according to Obama went to this church around twice a month during these 20 years) but he never heard any of these types of statements. Obama in addition launched his Senate campaign, sat on boards and held speaches with William Ayers who is a former member of the Weather Underground, a terrorist group that bombed the US Captial. Ayers is not repentive on what he did. Obama also has associates with Palestinian men who are anti-Isreal. Now, these are just some of the known associations he has. Of course the main stream media will play this off as, 'he doesn't agree with their actions, he has condemed them'. This is played off like it's not a big deal. Let me ask this, if Obama was seeking a job with the police force or any other security officer job would he be eligable? No. One of the questions is, 'Do you have known associations with terriorists.' Obama's answer would be Yes and he'd be denied the job. So how the hell can he run for the president of the United States??

How in the right mind can so many Americas swoon over this man? How can they say he would be the best man to lead America? How can you say he actually has experience to make decisions in the best interest of this country? WAKE UP!!! While Obama may give a great speach and entice you with his plan, do you actually think he will lead this country in the right direction? And don't give me this horsecrap that he's better than what we've had for the last 8 years. That is bogus and you know it.

Bottom line, if you're okay with casting your vote for a man who has associated himself with unsavory characters, a man who was sworn into the Senate office on January 4, 2005 and began his run for President in May of 2007, a man who could not make a 'Yes' or 'No' vote, but 'Present' 130 times on the senate floor http://obama.senate.gov/votes/, a man who wants to 'spread the wealth', a man who wants to raise taxes on Americans making 200K (this amount may have changed again), a man voted actually did vote against banning partial birth abortion, a man who said,"I am going to teach them (his daughters) first of all about values and morals. But if they make a mistake, I don't want them punished with a baby." If none of this bothers you, and you can morally cast your vote for this man, then by all means....

I encourage you to please, read, research and open your eyes. This is the biggest election of our lifetime, we can't afford to mess this up.

Countdown to Election Day - 6 Days

I'm getting nervous, excited and fearful about election day. Hard to believe it's only 7 days away. As I watch the ads, read the articles and fumble through the countless flyer's in the mail, I have failed to get my words out there. So, from now until election day, I will write a little each day in hopes that someone, somewhere out there will find themselves truly thinking about who would be the best to lead our country.

I would like some Obama supporter to explain to me the reason why they feel he is the best man to lead this country other then 'We need change'. Here are the reasons I've heard:

1. Universal Healthcare
2. Free College Tuition
3. Change
4. Economy
5. Don't want 8 years of the same
6. Change

Lets look at these one by one. First, Universal Healthcare. Obama wants to make sure everyone in the country gets free healthcare. You can view this as noble, to want to try and make sure people have healthcare available for even those that don't have insurance. Here's my issue. Have you seen how the system works in Canada or Europe? They currently have a Universal Healthcare plan. If it's so good, why are people waiting months for surgery, months to get a tooth pulled? Why do they fly over to America to get medical attention that they need. Don't believe this? Research for yourself.

Second, free college tuition. Now, I don't know if this is part of his plan, but he has mentioned how he wants education available to everyone, and to make it affordable. If we grant this privilege to all kids, how will they ever try hard to earn their own way. I thought the way it works is that the brilliant kids who get straight A's, work their tail off, and reach for their goals, they are the ones who get the grants and the free ride to college. For all the other kids, they might try the best they can, but still have to work, work, work to pay their way for their advanced education. If college isn't affordable to families, well, their are community colleges and part time jobs availble to kids.

Third, change. Change from??? A democratic country to a socialist country? Have yet to hear an explanation of what Obama's change will be.

Forth, economy. Obama's record on the economy is nil. He believes that raising taxes on the wealthy (anyone earning over 250K a year, which DOES include small businesses) will be good for the economy. He wants to 'spread the wealth'. He thinks it isn't fair that someone who has worked their life to build something out of themselves isn't fair for those that are living pay check to check. Aren't we suppose to have our own goals and dreams? We shouldn't have to wait for some hand out to propel our dreams. We have to put one foot in front of the other and make our own way.

Fifth, Doesn't want 8 years of the same. Hmmm. That's interesting. I guess I see something different than everyone else. The Obama supporters rant about how horrible the Bush Administration has been. While I might not agree with all the decisions President Bush has made, he has truly tried to do what is best for our country. One example, it was President Bush that instituted the tax cuts, which I know all of you out there who paid taxes, got a tax cut. Another thing, I thank God that it was President Bush in the White House when terrorists attacked us on our soil. He made a tough decision to fight against them, to spread democracy and help a nation in need of freedom. Haven't we been free from attack in the past 7 years? Maybe you don't think about that. For those of you that feel this war is unjust and say to yourself 'it's not our problem', what would you do if you looked across the street and see someone being raped, mugged or stabbed, turn your head and say 'it's not my problem'? If you don't think it's moral and just to stop a world from evil, then boy, you have a different mind set then me.

To get back to the point on not wanting 8 more years of the same, it seems that since the Democrats took over the house and Senate, our economy started to plummet. Don't get me wrong there is plenty of blame on both sides to the mistakes that were made (Republicans are the only ones to point the finger at their own party, Democrats refuse to point the finger at themselves). But think of this, who was is that pushed the mortgage lenders to loan money to people who couldn't afford to pay it back. The Democratic Congress. Who was one of the strongest supporters and told America that Fannie & Freddy is a good investment, Barney Frank, oh yeah, he is a democrat. Who continued to throw in pork spending on various bills? The Democratic Congress? Who is wanting 1 trillion dollars in new spending? Barack Obama.

Sixth, Change. I've made my point.

No Deal

No deal 228 Nay to 205 Yay in the House of Reps on regards to the 700B$ bail out of AIG. Apparently there were some measures within this bill that are not in our best interest.

We all need to take a look at what this bill constitutes. What were the stipulations? What would the costs be to the taxpayers? I think the right decision was made based upon the floor debate before the votes were cast. With as many objections received, there is more work to be done.

There is worry and doubt among the American people on what our future holds. This financial debacle has many fingers pointed at various parties. We can look to Wall Street, the mortgage companies the unethical spending in congress. For those that place the blame fully on the Bush Administration, you are not looking at the whole picture. There is so much hatred towards our President that it is sickening. I've never seen so many vulgar displays of protest in my life. While I don't always agree with all of the decisions, I do firmly believe that he is looking to make decisions that are in the best interest of the people.

We need to have our minds clear, our eyes open and our ears clean as we listen to the debates that will change the course of our country's history. I will do what I can to keep informed and spread the knowledge of what I've learned to you.

Independence Day

It's been 8 months since my last post, apparently I lost my motivation to write, but I'm back....

First, it is Independence Day, a day of celebration for our country's indenpendence. As we gather around our family and friends to watch the fireworks, let us remember what this day means. It's not just a day for taking a boat ride, eating hotdogs, writing our name in the air with sparklers and watching the sky light up with color...it is a day to celebrate who we are as a nation.

America, we are the land of the free, the best country on earth. We take our freedoms for granted and forget how we got to be the place we are. I am blessed to be an American and love this beautiful land, but I have fears that she is slipping away. Our country is founded on Christian beliefs, and yet the Ten Commandments are not cherished as they once were.

Over the past several months our country has been hit by tornadoes, flooding, earthquakes and fires, and yet I don't know if people got the message. In the state that I live massive flooding hit on June 13th with over 1000 blocks were covered in water, including our downtown business district in Cedar Rapids. This was referred to as the 500 year flood as we have not endured this amount of flood in 500 years. We are strong, and we will overcome. We will rebuild our lives once again, but it will not be the same. Over these past weeks I have seen the strength and compassion of Americans. It is amazing to watch neighbors helping each other, to lend a hand or give a hug. No one was waiting for a hand out from the government, people picked up their feet and took matters into their own hands. We will survive and move on.

When I traveled the streets to see the devestation, my heart broke and my head looked up to the sky. Could this be a sign of the end times? Is God calling his children to come back to Him. He is a Shepard calling for his herd. It is time to allow God back into our lives, our homes, and our hearts.

May we all have a blessed Independence Day as we celebrate our country.
